Kriminalvården is hiring staff for technical security

Kriminalvården is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, detention centers, and client transport.

The position is located within the technical security section of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's security department. The technical security section is responsible for directing, setting requirements, and developing the authority's security technical work within the framework of both the agency's operational protection and security protection work. Furthermore, the section is responsible for the agency's strategic fire protection work as well as communication responsibility and coordination of the Rakel organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Kriminalvården is facing a major challenge with significantly increased construction in the coming years. The demand for security technical solutions that are not cost-driven but still effective is a central and important task. It is a significant challenge but also a great opportunity to be involved in shaping Kriminalvården's development of technical security and security technical systems. In your role as an expert in the section, you will participate in the development work of technical security technology and technical networks within the authority. In your role, you will primarily standardize and set requirements for security technology, work on the development of security technical solutions. You will also handle and write responses within the security technical area and represent the security department in matters related to security technology, collaborate with the IT department, and work together with the facilities department.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in technology or other education combined with experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant
• Experience in starting and leading evaluations of product replacements in the field of security technology
• Experience working with security technical products and their connection to IT
• Experience with PSIM systems, communication systems, access control systems, or VMS systems
• Basic knowledge of networks, security systems, and functionality
• Good ability to understand technical documentation in Swedish and English
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Driver's license with at least category B

It is advantageous if you have:

• Further education in the security technical field
• Experience in virtualization and Microsoft
• Experience in developing long-term and strategic plans related to security systems, such as overarching alarm, access, and CCTV systems
• Experience in establishing and maintaining requirement documents to support procurement of security technical installations
• Experience in Kriminalvården's operations

OTHER

We have high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective.
